This adorable little guy with the messy mustache is Mickey, a 5 1/2 year old yorkie/schnauzer mix that came to us from our Newark facility in search of a great home of his own. Mickey had a home, but was turned in by his owners for not being good with children. He will need a home with no children under the age of 12, but Mickey has so much love to give the right person.....he just needs his special someone to come along. Mickey is very outgoing and friendly. He is eager to meet new people and will do the sniff test for a minute or two to check you out, then he'll stand on his hind legs to get some attention. Mickey needs time to learn to trust you completely, so he prefers not to be picked up or overwhelmed while he's getting to know you. When Mickey does fully trust you, he will happily plop in your lap for a snooze or a scratch behind the ears. Mickey is well behaved and very gentle while taking treats. He also passed his food test with flying colors, and has no problem sharing. Mickey is curious about other dogs and may do well with dogs his own size. He is hoping for a fresh start in life with a loving family that will never let him go. File#24302 1/15/15
