Simba is described by his foster mom as a boy with the body of LION (fighter) but the heart of a LAMB (tender) and he sits with Survivor Pride. When we picked up Simba he had been laying in his own waste and urine for about 6 days since he could not stand. He had been given pain meds. He would not eat. They brought Simba out to my car in a wagon and took several of us to get him into the car/kennel to ride to the vet's. This boy was the worst I have seen as far as matting/smell/injury. The Dr. had to sedate him for them to shave him down so they could take x-rays and check him over. It was determined he had several severe injuries and the next morning we headed to North Houston Vet Specialist where they stabilized him for surgery the following Monday Simba had extensive orthopedic surgery . He is now in a foster home and is thriving. He still needs to gain a few pounds. He will see his surgeon in about two weeks to make sure he is totally healed and can be released. Total recovery time has been 8 weeks. Robin named Simba and as his name means: He is a fighter. He fought to get better, to walk, to eat, and to heal. He loves his food, walks, foster brothers and sisters and so enjoys sleeping on his side or back. Totally relaxed. Simba was born approximately 2012 and weighs about 17 pounds. He needs another dog in the home or someone that's home much of the time. He’s located in S. TX
