Iggy's Story...
Hi everyone! My name is Iggy. My foster mom calls me her little shortstop. I play ball. I chase the ball and bat it around. I guess she calls me shortstop because I am short. Not sure what else that could mean ... unless you're a Detroit Tigers fan. I was born around June 1, 2015. I will be ready for adoption when I turn 8 weeks old. I am a little girl who will be spayed when I turn 12 weeks old. I am so glad to be rescued and living in a foster home with my mom Dottie and my littermates. We ended up at a shelter and didn't have much of a chance to make it out alive, until the Rescue found space for us and took us in. I am a very pretty grey tabby kitten with short-length fur, looking for my forever home. I am a very active kitten and my favorite activities are wrestling with my brother and sister, playing with toys, chasing a tiny tennis ball and pouncing on my mom's tail. I love to sit up on top of the kitty condo and watch my littermates get in trouble with our mama cat. I use the litter box like a good little girl and I'm learning all the great things that every kitten should know. Adoption fee: $100. Adopt a pair: $150. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 60 days of free pet insurance.

Adoption and Foster Care Application

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Iggy, a Troy Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Troy, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
