My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beanie: 3 yr old female Champagne Mink Tonkinese

This girl is a total character.!! She is funny all the time!! She looks a little like a pug dog partly because she is short front to back and maybe carries an extra pound or two. In some photos, she looks like an ocean seal.

How do I describe this little character?

She is very good at relating to humans. She is vocal and communicative and willful. If you don’t want to be trained by your cat, she is not the one for you. She is very funny and unexpected and very animated. She hates the camera. She is always moving. Her head tilts slightly to the left giving her a comical appearance, but this doesn’t affect her walking or mobility. Her tail is a complicated, delightful “S” curve most of the time. She is missing two toes on her front right foot. The dewclaw we had removed since it was broken, and she came to us with one front toe missing. She had an umbilical hernia from her birth, a fairly common problem usually taken care of at the time of spay but not done in her case. We have had it surgically taken care of. This is why she is the last to be posted of this group.

She loves humans and food and exploring. She loves petting and attention. She has been around many cats and gets along with them as long as they don’t get in the way of her getting the attention she wants from her humans.

She is the last of the Tonkinese cats we got from a breeder this spring. Sassafras may be her brother. I know Savory was her father.

She is enormously entertaining and will be a vivid presence for her new mom or dad. I have no idea how she does with dogs, but I bet she is the boss. Her big personality takes charge of most situations. She is definitely a one-of-a-kind wonderful kitty.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
