Mystique's Story...
Hi, my name is Mystique. My beginnings were a bit different than the other kittens in my foster home. You see, I was born in an abandoned car, to a feral mother. She took great care of me, but when me and my litter mates started climbing out of the car, someone caught me, and gave me to the nice folks at Friends of Rescue. Since I never knew what humans were until I was about 6-7 weeks old, I'm still learning to trust them. I'm a bit skittish when they try to pick me up, but I do like for them to pet me, and I even purr a little. I'm looking for a home with someone who can continue to work with me while I learn to trust. I need someone patient and kind. Are you that person? I sure hope so, as I'm going to be scared for a little while when I get to my new home. If you think you could help me learn to fully trust, please fill out an application at www.forrescue.net/cat-application. It doesn't bind you to anything, it's just a starting point.
I am currently fostered in Madison Alabama, but am not picky where I go, as long as I am loved, and remain an inside cat.
I am spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and felv/fiv negative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mystique, a Huntsville Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
