Rufus's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Rufus's Story...
Rufus came to a BHS home looking for help. After trying to find his home with no one claiming him, BHS is now putting him up for adoption. Rufus is up to date medically, neutered, micro-chipped and test NEG on his FELV/FIV test. He is very playful and lays down to be rubbed. He is very affectionate. He is living in foster care with other adult cats and has also been around a cat friendly dog. Look at those huge eyes begging for a home to call his own. Beautiful long white whiskers.
Could you give Rufus a FOREVER home?
If you do not have Internet, contact our Office at 540-586-6100 and Office Manager, Diane will get a message to the foster mom to call you.
If you would like to meet Rufus please go to http://bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Bedford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
