Janet's Story...
"Janet" is an adorable female kitten who made her debut at the HSOV on May 7, 2015 along with her siblings (Chrissy and Jack) after they were found in Marietta, Ohio and brought to the safety of our shelter. These babies were just 5-weeks old when they arrived at our shelter. "Janet" has a black short smooth coat with beautiful silvery threads throughout her coat, a small patch of white on her chest, a long tail, and a cute kitten face. This little sweetheart has a lovable, playful personality and dearly loves her little brother and sister. After all .. "Three's Company" :) UPDATE: "Janet, Jack, and Chrissy" went home with a wonderful foster mother on May 24, 2015. They are still available for foster/rescue by calling the HSOV at 740.373.5959 or by sending an email to manager@hsov.org FURTHER UPDATE: "Chrissy" has been adopted but "Janet" and "Jack" are still looking for a home. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Janet, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
