Application process takes 3 - 5 days and private appointments will be set for approved adopters if not approved by Saturday 09/12.
Topher came to our rescue from a hoarding situation in Athens, OH. He had very little socialization up until he came to the rescue and is still working on being a normal dog. Topher is crate trained-- goes into his crate on command and keeps it clean-- but is still working on potty training in general. Topher is very nervous around new people and in new surroundings, but will warm up to you on his terms. He is trying to be more comfortable when approached by people and is working on wearing a collar and leash. Topher is going to do best in a home with another dog, and will need a patient family to help him become a normal dog again. Topher lives with 3 other dogs in his foster home and does great with all of them, loves to wrestle and play with other dogs. Topher can follow the lead of other dogs very well....for example, if he sees a dog approach someone for attention, Topher follows suit. He does like children once he is comfortable and will happily chase and play with them. Topher is a real snuggle bug when he is sleepy and loves to have his neck scratched. He is a typical puppy in that everything is a toy to him- shoes, magazines, towels, etc. He will play with anything he can get his paws on!
