My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ROSIE
7 year old, Female Flame Point Himalayan
See Rosie's special video: Rosie loves to cool off and she also loves to play.

COURTESY POST: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Four years ago Rosie, a beautiful flame point Himalayan, was found outside. How did that happen??? When contacted by the person who found her, we, of course, agreed to take her in. When she was brought to us, it seemed that she had been outside for a while and she seemed quite distressed. How did this happen to a beautiful young Himi, we wondered? Was she lost? Or was she left behind? It is so frustrating not to know her history.

Rosie enjoyed being inside and having regular meals and soon she let us fuss over her. But she was still a pretty edgy girl when another Purebreds volunteer asked if he could take her home to foster her there. It was to be a temporary foster home for her but, as so often happens, the two became bonded with each other and Rosie had her home. She grew into a happily demanding princess and taught her friend, Michael, all sorts of games she liked to play. She is his only pet.
Although she is not a lap kitty, she loves to be stroked and petted and is very aware of, and in communication with, her human dad. She loves attention. They have little rituals of life together and play established games all the time. She loves her treats. She loves to sit in sunny window sills and watch the world go by, especially the avian world. She seems to have no desire to go outside.

When the mood strikes, she will race through the house with great abandon and glee at maximum speed. She really is a character and an entertainer and a caretaker of her human.
Rosie is a healthy, bouncy girl. A flame point Himalayan has red ears, feet, and tail. Her body is a soft cream. Her eyes, of course, are a piercing blue. She has a fluffy coat that should be brushed regularly. Her new family will need to work out with her how and when to brush her -- sometimes she is not in the mood. A great grooming solution is to have a groomer give her a lion shave which is so cute on her and takes care of her grooming needs for 6 months or more.

This girl has opinions despite her good nature. She is cooperative in all things with her dad but less flexible with humans she does not love as much. As with almost all cats, but maybe a little bit more with Rosie, her new family will need to be patient with her for some time while her trust of them is developing. Though close with her dad, she is not so quick to accept humans she doesn’t know. She is a reasonable little girl and will enjoy her new home.

Her dad is moving overseas -- retiring inexpensively abroad. He cannot take her with him. Very regretfully he has contacted Purebreds about rehoming her. Her new adopter will have a great companion in her, a one of a kind beautiful girl. She would probably prefer to be an only cat. She is not a good fit for children. We have never seen her around dogs but we expect she would have no trouble letting them know their place in the scheme of things.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Please note that Rosie is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with her owner in Santa Cruz, CA while being placed in her forever home. Adoption fee applies.
