My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a standard grey female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. Her name is Bigfoot. Despite the name, Bigfoot is your average sized chinchilla. Bigfoot came to the rescue back in May along with her entire family (mom, sister, and dad). While several of them got adopted and are now in their new homers, Bigfoot (and her dad Cheech) is still here. It’s time she finds a home of her own now!

Bigfoot is a 2 year old standard grey female chinchilla. She is a very curious girl and loves exploring. Would likely love to have playtime and get to explore all sorts of new items and places. She loves bouncing around her cage and also, running on her chin-safe wheel. She would love if her new family would also be able to get her a chin safe wheel (talk to us about where to get one from if this is a possibility for you – pet store wheels are not safe). Despite her energy, she does well with being handled and petted. She doesn’t bite and she’s a very sweet chinchilla.

Bigfoot did live with her mom and sister when they were all here, and they all got along just fine, so it is possible that she may get along with other chinchillas again in the future. If you are thinking about pairing her and your chin, or another of ours, please let us know, and we’ll see what we can do. However, we cannot make any guarantees that any two chinchillas will get along.

This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Mazuri pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. They will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324). Sorry, but we do not ship.

Bigfoot will be $75 to adopt

No other discounts apply during the sale, and the chinchilla must be picked up by August 31st.
