Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Redmond: 6 yr old male front paw declaw Red and White Maine Coon
Well, here’s another of the wonderful Red Coon boys. I always take them into foster if I can. They are fabulous, loving, funny cats. Redmond is all of that an also a little unusual since he has been declawed.
His story is that he was surrendered by his family to a shelter way up in Oregon. Of course I said I would take him if we could get him down to me. ( thank you transporters !!!) I know nothing else about his story. What I know about HIM is that he is a very sweet, loving beautiful boy. He sort of looks like a classic, old fashioned cat with his big round eyes and a slightly rounded head. He has large tufted paws. The only white on him is on his chin and muzzle. His fur is very soft and a wonderful saturated red.
Redmond loves attention and is doing quite well despite the trauma of being abandoned in a shelter. He was waiting there a while before he came to me. I think he is probably a little quieter than he usually is . There is a bit of sadness in his eyers. Do you see it? But he covers it well with his good nature. He is being a good sport and waiting for his life to begin again. He wants to love and be loved.
He enjoys being petted under his chin and stroked down his back. He actually loves all sorts of attention. Most Coons are great family cats, they are born companions. They are also good with children and the commotion that generally accompanies them.
Redmond probably has an extra pound he could lose. But he is a very healthy, solid boy. He is a big cat but not huge. He has been combo tested and is negative. He is neutered and current on his shots. Many delawed kitties don’t like, or have the confidence, to be around other cats. Redmond seems familiar with them and would likely be ok with pleasant cats who behaved well with him. I have no idea how he feels about dogs.
I expect Red is a comedian and an entertainer.I would love to see him racing around his home, happy and loved. He will make someone a wonderful companion.
The last photo shows him just after his bath- he is drying but not yet brushed out so his coat looks curly. He was so tolerant of us when we, as strangers, bathed him. He is a very gentle, good natured cat. He needs a home where his tolerance is not really important. He needs a happy home where he is just loved and treasured.
He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
