My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Audrey, Great Pyrenees, 65 lbs, approx 1.5 yrs. contact twylasfriends@yahoo.com

As lovable as can be, Audrey is one of the friendliest Great Pyrenees you'll ever meet. She has a soft temperament and a gentle, fun-loving personality. She's become part of the family and loves to spend time napping in our family room and chewing on a rawhide toy.

When we first found Audrey, she was a stray, roaming a residential construction site. Eating only the food left behind by construction workers, she was thin, thirsty, and very dirty. There's no way of knowing how long she had been on the road and alone. We approached her with 3 McDonald's hamburgers, and she was so grateful for the food! At no point was she ever aggressive with us, only wary when we tried to lure her into our vehicle.

Since then, she has transformed into a snow white beauty. She is still in her puppy stage and needs plenty of supervision. We have been working on house training and leash training, but her new family will need to continue that, using small treats to encourage proper behavior.

Audrey gets along fine with other dogs and with our alpha-cat, Chloe, who has put her in her place on more than one occasion! Audrey has never tried to attack Chloe but has chased one of our other cats. She's curious about these alien creatures and, hey, if something runs, why not chase it?

Also, in sending your note to the Contact Person, be sure to include information about yourself, family, home, yard, fence, other pets, work situation, and pet accommodations. This information will help us make the best match between you and one of our dogs***
