My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

River is a 1 year old (approximately) lab mix who weighs in at 60 pounds. This sweet, gentle and shy girl found herself at a local shelter; Fuzzy Pawz was asked to help because she was really shut down there. Now in a foster home and she is starting to blossom!

This pretty girl loves to play fetch, walks well on a leash, and is not a barker. River is a shy girl but does warm up to new people quickly; once she knows you she will pancake herself to your leg for some affection.

She does get a little too excited for treats and sometimes forgets she needs to take them gently. River is currently living with 2 other dogs and does well with them; her behavior with cats is unknown. She would do best in a home with another confident well-adjusted dog to help her continue to learn and grow.

She is dog door trained and is working on crate training. River is almost house trained; she does need to get outside as soon as she wakes up in the morning. She needs to be in her crate when left alone as she is still in the puppy phase and likes to chew on things (kongs and sturdy chew toys are a must). She is not a dominant girl and seems to just want to be with her human. River knows her name and has fairly good recall though she can be a bit stubborn at times. She enjoys car rides and does well especially if she has a kong or strong chew toy to keep her amused.

Keep in mind that River is still a pup and she would greatly benefit from long walks, a puppy class and continued socialization with people and other animals. A family with older kids that will take her with them hiking, camping, etc would be perfect.

River is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

If you would like to meet her and see if you and she are the perfect match you will need to fill out an application with Fuzzy Pawz Rescue: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

There is a $75 adoption fee for River
