Thor - Courtesy Post's Story...
Thor is a 16 month old pure bred American Akita. He weighs around 85 lbs. Thor’s is living with the father whose son acquired him as a puppy. They are now unable to keep him do to their busy schedules. He has had obedience training and is a loyal companion who loves to be by your side and sleep in bed with you. He has shown a dislike for some male dogs, so he would probably do best as an only dog or in a home with a laid back female. We are not sure how Thor would do with cats and we would recommend that he be in a more mature home without young children. Thor is also unaltered and will need vaccine updates.

**Thor is one of quite a few requests from owners to help them find homes for their dogs. We do this to help prevent these dogs from going to the pound or euthanasia. It is not our policy to adopt a dog without being spayed or neutered, so we highly recommend that Thor be neutered upon re-homing.

If you are interested in meeting Thor, please fill out an online application at www.dogworksohio.com and we will forward your application to his current owners. Thor’s re-homing fee is $75.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thor - Courtesy Post, a Toledo Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Toledo, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Toledo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toledo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toledo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toledo paves the way for another one to be saved.
