Meet Hawkeye, a 6 yr old male dapple smooth coated dachshund. This boy is super sweet & just loves to cuddle. He also has the most magnificent eyes that are 1/2 blue & 1/2 brown. He's great on a leash, in his crate, in the car, on walks, etc. He loves to be with people & other dogs. One of his favorite games is to run out the screen door & then look back & beg for his foster brother to come out & play with him. He's is fully house-trained and is an absolute dream-boat. He did test positive for heartworms & we are treating him for that. Don't worry - this is not contagious to other dogs & is easily treated & fully overcome. If you decide to adopt him, we will send you home with all the remaining meds to complete his treatment. PS: Real men do wear pink. He is rather fond of his pink harness. Tee hee.

If you are interested in adopting Hawkeye, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Hawkeye 's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Hawkeye will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
