My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How you doing? My name is Raleigh; I am about 10 years young and I’m a laid back, handsome dude. I am a little skittish when I first meet strangers but I warm up quickly. I was rescued with Bianchi when our owner passed away suddenly. Since coming to DREAM, I have learned a lot and making great progress. I am doing very well with house training when kept on a schedule. My foster mom says I'm a great house companion. I like other dogs, and there's nothing I like more than snuggling up with my people. I ride well in the car and love to go for walks. My favorite place to sleep is with you, burrowed under the covers, I've grown up with my Bianchi, but we are not a bonded pair. If you’d like to meet me, I’m sure I can fit you into my schedule!

If you are interested in adopting Raleigh, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Raleigh 's adoption fee is $275. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Raleigh will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
