Cali's Story...
Cali is a ten year old sable and white rough collie with big bones and a big heart. She is 74 pounds of love and curiosity.

Cali is very strong but she is also sensitive, so she would need a human with a firm but positive training style. Her nose is finely tuned and loves to go on "nose walks" where she can follow whatever scent she chooses.

Cali is very active for her age and loves to run and chase other dogs at the dog park. She sits at the feet of each piano student and gets along extremely well with the dog of the house in her foster family.

Cali is also very gentle with the elderly. Her ideal human family would have a fenced backyard where she can follow her nose and chase birds and squirrels with plenty of time for petting and cuddles.

Most of all, Cali is looking for a family that will love her forever.
Cali is being fostered in Ohio.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cali, a Powell Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Powell, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Powell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powell paves the way for another one to be saved.
