Chester's Story...
Chester is a small little Chihuahua (9.5 pounds) that is 4 years in age approximately. He came to us after loosing his home. We took him into rescue and he went right into a foster home. We have learned that he loves to cuddle and be in your lap - that is his favorite place!. He sleeps in the bed right beside the foster volunteer and is hoping his forever home lets him do just that too. He is 98% housebroken (just a few accidents). We know Chester would be the happiest as the only dog, just because he has no interest in playing with other dogs at all. He does like playing with his toys and is perfectly content with doing just that. This snuggle bug is taking applications - click here to get started http://www.henricohumane.org/adopt/adoption-application-dogs/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chester, a Richmond Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
