Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jackson is an awesome, beautiful affectionate boy. He is a little over a year and will be the most loyal dog you'll ever know. Jackson is a wonderful companion, he doesn't leave your side even when resting he will rub against you. If he had his way he would sleep with you nightly and he spoons all night long! He wakes up happy wiggling like he hasn't seen you for days even though he just got out of bed with you. Jackson gives you his paw frequently throughout the day which is his way of asking you to rub him. He loves car rides and requests he go on every one you do. He loves the outdoors and will lay on the deck for hours watching life, chasing flies and chewing his favorite rope toy. He loves to fetch and will be a fun playmate. Unfortunately, he has recently been diagnosed with a chronic condition that will slow him down, but he will never let you down. Original x-rays indicated he would be okay, but his recent diagnosis shows that he has a problem and slight discomfort walking. His diagnosis is mild hip dysplasia in one hip and elbow dysplasia in his front legs. When he is feeling discomfort there are meds he can take. He should be on strong supplements to keep him active (which he is very right now). He needs to live in a ranch style home so he doesn't have to climb steps, with people that are alert to his needs. He loves to be outside running and playing, but his person should keep it down a bit so he doesn't hurt himself. How wonderful it would be to have a backyard for him to enjoy, and hugs in the evening! There is no dog more affectionate and loving then Jackson. Symptoms include hoping like a rabbit when going down stairs (vet said this is less painful for him because he doesn't have to bend elbows),limping is most prevalent when he stands up from a resting position (who can't relate to that?!), when he sits on hind legs his front legs slide out from him and he goes it to a laying position. It is possible he could be receptive to surgery down the road, and physical therapy would really help him now. Although he will run around each day especially when he gets excited, he also spends time resting. If he is the dog for you or someone you know please copy and paste this link to fill out our online, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html. He would be a perfect companion for a person who is homebound. Adopters should consider the cost of his care down the road, but if this doesn't phase you, Jackson is the best dog you could ever hope for. We cannot be certain what his true mix is. There is an adoption fee.
