Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pauley would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that loyal and loving lap dog who also enjoys his walks and fun times. At 2 - 2.5 years old and 12 lbs, Pauley is so portable that he can be a full-time best friend...accompanying his guardians everywhere a small and wonderful dog is allowed.
It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with great temperaments...as well as so very cute like a teddy bear...end up in precarious situations. Pauley was a last-minute save for us...he would have been euthanized in a dismal Texas shelter if a kind TX rescuer hadn't stepped up to save him. But how could they not have? This little dog is just so awesome with his whole life lying in front of him...a life in which he can bring so much joy to a special family.
Pauley, as a young dog is a blank slate waiting to learn about the world. With clear and kind guidance and positive reinforcement group obedience classes, Pauley would shine as a well-behaved guy and very bonded companion. He is an all-time snuggler and will cuddle his way into any heart! Pauley may be a bit shy initially as transport and rehoming is challenging for any dog...but with love and nurturing, he will absolutely shine
We envision Pauley with retirees or a family with older, dog-crazy kids..he would be overjoyed with the time he could spend in their company. It's not that Pauley is a needy or whiny guy...not at all...he just loves the company of his humans who respect him for all his wonderful traits. Pauley likes children and enjoys playing with them...but we would only be open to older kids who can be gentle and understanding that Pauley only weighs 12 lbs and needs soft and kind handling.
For those family members who enjoy walks and time outside in the beautiful Colorado scenery...Pauley would love nothing more than to share the experience. He is always up for a walk..fascinated by the activity around him. He breathes in the air...so happy to be free of the dismal shelter environment and with people that he loves. Then...maybe his favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed beside his family.
Pauley is a non-shedding (or maybe a hair or 2 - we can't quite tell) guy and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his beautiful golden red coat cotton-soft and matt-free.
Pauley will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/18/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
