My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RACKET
Born February 15, 2005, Purebred Marbled Bengal

COURTESY POST: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

What a sad story this lovely boy has to tell. Racket was bought by a couple from a breeder ten years ago. They had this poor little boy tied up in their garage for an unknown number of years – who would ever do such a cruel thing to an animal? Just thinking about this injustice makes me want to cry for him. Fortunately for this boy, the older couple could no longer take care of him and a kindhearted lady took him in a few months ago and promised him to find him a new, loving home. She contacted us and it is with great pleasure that we get to post this wonderful cat making sure we find him a loving, caring home where he will never be tied up and left without proper care again.

However, his caretaker lives in an apartment and cannot keep him. Here are the personality (or should we say purrsonality) traits she has witnessed of this exceptional boy. First of all, he adjusted without any issues when she took him in – well, cats are so smart and they sure seem to sense when someone is kind and caring with them.

He loves, loves, loves to be petted. He loves to be held like a baby and will just sit in the arms of a caring human. He actually likes to suck on fingers while purring his little heart out. When they come home, he usually runs to the door and wants to be picked up and held – okay now I am jealous, none of my kitties do that!

He craves attention all the time. If he happens to be at level with his human, he will put a paw out to get attention so he can be petted and held. If you aren't in the same room as him, he will follow you or eventually come looking for you, meowing his little Bengal’s meow. We assume he was so starved for love and attention that he cannot get enough of it now.

This boy is harness trained and can be walked with his harness. Actually his uncaring, and probably uneducated in the Bengal breed original owners, didn’t take off his harness for years so he has some loss of fur where the harness was. Doesn’t matter: he is still a striking looking boy. What’s a little missing hair with so much great purrsonality to make up for? He is an easy travel companion on car rides. And he LOVES to play with water. His caretaker can fill you in on his fascination with water.
He is also very good with kids. He allows his caretaker’s daughter to pick him up all the time – you’ll see the lovely girl and this handsome kitty in one of the pictures.

He has been around a big dog and was walked together side by side with the dog while on his leash. He and the dog got along well, with Racket occasionally teasing the dog and pouncing on him playfully.

We are looking for that special human who will treasure such a special cat: someone who will give him a lot of attention, has time to walk him, and doesn’t mind a little water splashed about on the floor; someone who can play with him and wants a Velcro kitty; someone who is very familiar with the Bengal breed since they are very special cats requiring special care, understanding, lots of interaction, and a healthy, kitty appropriate diet.

If you are looking for such a treasure, please contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or at loveallcats7@gmail.com or send an Adoption Application.
Please note that Racket is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with his caretaker in Vacaville, CA, while being placed in his forever home.
