Here's what the humans have to say about me:
From Homeless to Hopeful.
Magique. (Now Mila) That's what the staff at animal control named this pretty, petite, tiger striped two year old kitty. With a name like that you'd think she'd lived a charmed life. Quite the opposite was true. We don't know her history before she was found by someone who brought her into animal control after witnessing a dog attack a VERY pregnant cat. No sooner had she settled in and begun receiving medical treatment for her bite wounds when she spontaneously went into labor. Soon the mother - to - be was now a mama to 5 tiny, squirming babies. Sadly, two of these tiny beings did not survive. Luckily, a volunteer from IAR ((Illinois Animal Rescue) saw this sweet mom and her underweight munchkins and decided to rescue her. That should have been the beginning of their happily ever after. Unfortunately, the worse was yet to come. Mila and her babies developed severe Upper Respiratory Infections She couldn't eat, or even drink water, and while she valiantly tried to nurse her babies, Mila just could not keep up with her babies and with babies getting so sick they just could not win the fight of life.
Mila, started improving quickly and started loving life. She went from painfully thin to nicely filled out. She is friendly and loving despite her ordeals. She likes to crawl onto laps for cuddles, rub against legs and 'plops' down for tummy rubs. Mila is looking for one or more humans to be loved by and to bestow all her love. She would love children and people of all ages. Come check out this sweet, deserving kitty. You won't be sorry! Isn't it about time she gets her truly 'happily after after' in her forever home?
