My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

STARBUCK & JAVA bonded siblings
14 year old, Male, Spotted Bengal & 12 year old, Female, Marbled Bengal, Bonded Sibling Pair

COURTESY POST: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of these cats. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of these cats. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Need a little jolt of coffee without having to go to your local coffee shop? Meet handsome Starbuck and his lovely sister Java. No, don’t worry, they won’t make you all jittery like you might become from too much caffeine. Although Starbuck is still very active and outgoing, as any great Bengal should be, Java is a sweet little mellow girl, so they balance each other out just perfectly.
Starbuck’s fur has the lovely leopard spots, while Java has that amazing Bengal fur with three bands of color that is so striking to look at. Her caretaker lovingly describes her fur as incredibly soft and luxurious, almost like a mink coat. Wow, I’d sure love to run my hands over this little beauty’s coat...of course, it would probably take a while before she is okay with trusting her new mama or papa to do so since she is a bit on the reserved side.

So why are these wonderful Bengals up for adoption, you might ask yourself? Certainly not because they have any health or behavioral issues. Sadly, their original owners have passed away and family members are not able to keep them because of their own living circumstances. They came to us asking if we can help, and, of course, we said yes, absolutely. We offered to post these lovely cats and help find a wonderful forever home where these bonded siblings can spend the remainder of their days in harmony with each other and their new humans.

So besides being wonderful cats, here is what you can expect by adopting this special pair. Yes, they both are described as a little skittish and when it comes to loud noises, quite frankly they do freak out. When they are done hiding, they usually pretend like nothing happened and will come out and socialize again.

Starbuck, the little charmer, loves getting right up in his human’s business and will make it difficult to focus on things like working on the computer or reading a good book. He is not subtle when he wishes to have some human affection. We expect that as a true lover of the Bengal breed, his new mama or papa will be understanding and comfortable with this behavior. That’s what makes Bengals so special, after all.

Of course, in typical Bengal fashion they both love to climb and play. They chase each other down the hallways. Java comes alive when Starbuck starts prodding her. It’s fun to watch when Starbuck is running for his life when he is being chased by his smaller, usually so demure sister. If you want to interact with your kitty, Starbuck will be happy to fetch a small toy mouse for you. Their original owners collected baskets full of little kitty toys for them to play with and the kitties seem to like to take out particular toys and play with them. Bengals are so smart!

Both kitties are good with children, though they will be skittish around people in general. With loud or overexcited children, they will probably just run and hide. They both got along great with a Cocker Spaniel, so we assume they would get along just fine with dogs of similar characteristics; however, a Doberman just doesn’t fit that bill, so we cannot adopt them to someone who loves their Dobie over a kitty.

Other than that, when it comes to mealtime, the new parent will probably want to stand guard to assure that sweet little Java gets her own share of the meal since her brother has a tendency to eat his as well as her share...I guess that’s what big brothers are often known for.

If you love the Bengal breed and have been waiting to adopt a sweet pair that is both independent but also affectionate on their own terms, please consider giving Starbuck and Java a loving forever home.

If you are interested in these two kitties, please contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or at loveallcats7@gmail.com or send an Adoption Application.
Please note that Starbuck and Java are not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with their caretaker in Sacramento, CA while being placed in their forever home.
