Oakley is brand new to DREAM and we are still discovering his personality. Currently we know he is a black & tan long haired male, ~11.5 lbs, 2 years young, & he's a bit apprehensive of new dogs at first. He's not interested in meeting them or playing with them. He tends to run & hide at first but then just settles down and ignores the other dogs. He's great on a leash & in his crate. Car rides were something new to him & have made him nervous so far. He's easily trainable & wants to please you. He's a great little snuggler too. We are searching for a quiet home that keeps a fairly consistent schedule and can be patient with him as he learns. We'll update more on his personality as we get to know it.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Oakley will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
