Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! My name is Jake and I am a Shepherd mix – mixed with what? Who knows? I am 2 years old. My owners gave me up and brought me to a kill shelter – I don’t know why. They didn’t leave a note to say why. IAR Volunteers saw my picture and helped me get out of the shelter. Which is so nice because I was there for over 2 whole months! For a young guy, I mean dog like me – that’s eternity! But now I am in a nice foster home and I am so excited. I know some commands such as SIT, SHAKE & give KISS. I’m a really smart fellow. I’m learning so much in my foster home. My foster Mom has taught me to LEAVE IT and I am house trained. I know to go to the back door 1st thing in the morning to do my business and right away for when my foster Mom comes home from work. No crates for me … I’m a big boy. There are 2 other dogs here that I get to play with and boy oh boy do I like to play. I have a nice big yard to play in and we get to run around. When I come inside I get to play with the other kids …. The 2 legged kind and I’m really good with children, even the small kind. I sit really well for them especially if they give me treats. I jump sometimes when I get excited but I take correction pretty well. I have seen cats in their crates and I got a bit spooked so I am not sure on what I would be like with cats. I’m learning this new game called SEEK/FIND. My foster sisters, the 2 legged kind hide stuff and I go find them. Maybe I can be a Detective? Oh I know what we could search for … how about my forever home? But I think you have to call my foster Mom for that Meet & Greet. Then you can come over and meet me. We can play games and I can show you how handsome & smart I am. Until you call I will learn the best I can in my foster home. Hope you call soon! Cheers, Jake.
Jake is located in his foster home in Itasca. Please fill out an adoption application at: www.illinoisanimalrescue.org .
