Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER UPDATE!! Ally is recovering well and spending more time out of the crate. She can even keep up with her foster siblings on their morning walk!
She looooves her butt scratches and will stick her rear end right into you to get them! It is so ridiculously cute.
MEET ALLY, a 5 year old sad story hopefully with a happy ending. A few days ago we received a phone call from a vet because a family was there asking them to put down a dog that they did not think deserved to die. As it turned out, the dog was actually adopted from us 3 years ago; the reason for wanting to put her down was a cruciate ligament tear, an easy, although expensive, thing to fix.
Just a reminder to everyone who has adopted or will adopt a dog from us: you have signed or will sign an adoption contract that states you will not put the dog down unless it is an emergency, and the contract also states that we will take the dog back at any time for any reason. We do our best to screen families to adopt our dogs but clearly sometimes people are not who they seem and we were fooled. That being said, if you think you may one day find yourself euthanizing a dog for a health issue that is easily curable, do not adopt from us!
Saying that we are short on funds is an understatement and we really have no money for this surgery, but we will hopefully find some wonderful people that, like us, think that a ligament tear is not a good reason to terminate a life. If you are one of such wonderful people, please click on her page http://labradorfriends.com/ally2015/ and donate to help us raise the money for Ally’s surgery. She is super sweet, a little scared right now but slowly relaxing. She very much deserves a new knee and a new family.
