I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
A "failed" hunting dog, who was chained and almost shot by his "owner"," Carlise needs to know love as much as anyone. Since this is the time of year our shelter fills up with discarded hounds, its a good time for education. Check out the freeze brand on his ear. Freeze branding is another way for hunters identify their dogs. We have seen it all with "failed" hunting hounds: chains, physical abuse, starvation, and medical neglect. Here's the thing about rescued hounds, they are often the most sweetest, gentle, and best family additions! They housetrain just like any other breed, and appreciate love, a fully belly, and a warm INSIDE bed. He is happy not be hunting this year, and so are the bears. Carlisle is about 3 years old, is good with other dogs and is very affectionate.
$175.00 adoption donation ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough) , microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals.
