Brutus's Story...
Brutus mom is a pure Lab and dad we are not sure of. Brutus has been introduced to inside and has done well with going to the door when he needs to go outside. He has also been sleeping in a crate at night. He loves to play with his toy's. He weighs about 11 pounds now (10/15/2015) and will continue to grow into a big boy. He loves to sit in your lap and take a nap. His adoption fee is $200.00 which includes having his vaccinations to date, free of internal/external parasites, micro-chipped and pays for his neuter. If you do not have Internet, contact our Office at 540-586-6100 and Office Manager, Diane, will get a message to the foster home to call you.
If you would like to meet Brutus please go to http://bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application. BHS houses all dogs in fosters homes so please fill out an application to set up a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brutus, a Bedford Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
