My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

EMILY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!Our beautiful little Emily is a special girl in need of a special family! Emily is a 2-3 year old female Lab mix. We are not sure what she's mixed with, she's small, only about 30 pounds and has a round head and an adorable underbite, so possibly Pug or Terrier (?). Emily was rescued from an overburdened, noisy and crowded pound in Kentucky. The poor little thing spent nearly 5 months there. We are not sure of what has happened to Emily in the past, but she acts like many dogs we have rescued from hoarding type situations. She is an extremely shy, timid dog who is very unsure of humans. She is not aggressive in any way, shape or form, but does her best to stay out of the way and avoid people, especially strangers. Emily has been in foster care for several weeks now and has already made tremendous strides. She no longer spends most of her time hiding in her crate, rather she's discovered the comforts of the couch :) She greets her foster mom now with a smile and wiggly, waggly tail and seeks out attention and affection now.Loud noises and lots of commotion still startle her quite a bit, but in just a short time, she has become mostly relaxed and comfortable in the safety of a home. We've rescued multiple dogs over the years that are as shy as little miss Emily and they do eventually come around, but sometimes it can take several weeks to months, but once you've earned their trust, there is no reward and no feeling compared to knowing you helped an animal know what is like to be loved! Emily does well with the other dogs in her foster home. She is beginning to show more and more personality and has also discovered toys and bones and enjoys both quite a bit and is actually quite the clown. She is housetrained and very quiet in the home, so she'll do just fine in an apartment or condo. Emily is going to need a very patient, understanding home but in a few months, she'll learn how great it is to be loved by people. If you think you can offer Emily the kind of home she needs and deserves, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Her adoption fee is $275. She is spayed, wormed, vaccinated, HW tested and microchipped.

•Emily's adoption donation is $275. This donation helps to cover her spay, initial vaccines, initial worming and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Emily from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and please put the name of the dog in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes the applications end up in there!
