Rainbow is a very sweet 22 pound spayed Bichon poodle mix who is grateful to Small Paws Rescue for saving her life. She was rescued from a kill shelter where she had been found as a stray. The vet puts her age from 4-6. She is up to date with shots and heart worm prevention.
Rainbow loves people, other dogs and food. She gets along well with older children but has not been around cats or small children. Her body frame suggests that she was once very overweight and had puppies. She is very excited at meal time and needs to be on a strict diet with minimal treats. She is a smart girl who has learned to sit before and after walks and for treats. She is learning to sit instead of dance for meals and attention. While she is very food motivated, she is not food aggressive.
With routine and long walks, she has blossomed. She has to wear a harness attached to a leash, for walks, to prevent choking and she likes to move. She would love to chase a squirrel so she needs a firm hand.
Rainbow will be an excellent pet in a family, or to a single person. Rainbow needs another dog in the home or someone home most of the time. Children in the home need to be at least 10 years old. She is located in NC
