Amos is about a year old and is loving life in his temporary foster home. This sweet boy was rescued from a high kill animal control facility after his family moved off and left him behind. From his foster mom: He has been our foster for 2 weeks now. Prior to that he was in foster in TN after being pulled from a high kill shelter. He was dumped there by his former family. (Rotten!) Amos is patiently waiting for his forever family to come and adopt him. He needs the security of a forever family. He is a mix of beagle and Bassett. He's a shorty with Bassett body and beagle/hound head. He is COMPLETELY HOUSETRAINED! He is a love! Just wants to snuggle you on the couch or bed. We have dogs and cats in the house and he gets along pretty well with both. He really needs to have a permanent home!
This dog will be ready to leave our care in time for CPR's Triple Header Event weekend with Petco for their National Adoption Weekend! CPR will be at Petco in Southington, CT on Friday, January 8th through Sunday, January 10th. Friday, January 8th's event will be held from 2pm-6pm. Saturday, January 9th's event will take place from 10am-2pm. And, January 10th's event will also occur from 10am-2pm. PRE-APPROVAL is REQUIRED to bring home a pup from Sunday's event. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event. You can apply while you are there, but the application will not be processed the same day. Come meet our pups and find your forever friend!
This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms, and will be fully treated before he leaves our care. The adoption fee is $375 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 2pm. An additional $75 fee will be added for puppies picked up from our Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
