Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey, my name is Xena (as in warrior princess). Found living in the wild with some other cats, I was rescued with a plan to get me spayed, vaccinated and then returned to where i was found. The kind-hearted rescuers decided that I might have the potential to be socialized so that I could live life as a pet. I am 9 months old (small for my age) so the socialization process has been slow. I am not overtly aggressive. I hiss at my foster mother when she approaches my cage but I let her clean and feed me without moving away, trying to scratch or bite. I am not yet ready for anyone to try to touch or hold me. I am not mean, just scared. I don't know whether you human types can be trusted. I like other cats so if I could find a home with a gentle kitty, they might help convince me that life inside with human beings is not so bad. Having a regular source of food and clean water to drink is much better than drinking ground water and having to hunt for my own food. I do still worry about predators as I am not yet convinced that you humans aren't predators.
If you are a kind, patient person who can give me the time and space to feel safe, I might grow to love you. I would like a quiet home without small children or dogs. Because I am a very independent girl, I won't mind at all if you are gone all day. The weather is getting colder and I am not a fool. I know life inside will be toasty and warm while life outside will be bone-chilling. I realize that right now I may not have a lot to offer you, but if you take a chance on me we would someday be best buddies.
