My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good morning, beagle friends! My name is Reesie and I am a sweet, approx. 2 yr. old, chocolate-colored beagle that was found as a stray and picked up by animal control. I received a lot of love in my foster home in North Carolina, but now that I am with Penny Angels, I can start looking for my new forever home. My foster mom learned a lot about me in a short period of time, and this is what she wanted to share with you: “Reesie is a petite girl, weighing about 15-20 lbs. She is a little timid and shy at first meeting, but warms up quickly. She seems to be more afraid of men at first than women. She followed me around the house after just one day here and loves to lie in bed with my husband or crawl in his lap. (He calls her ‘Reesie cup’.) She still runs from us in the yard at times, but that is also improving. She likes to sniff your face, but will not lick you. She tries to be affectionate and wants to trust people, but she is just so insecure right now, so it will take her a little time.

“Reesie has had no accidents in the house and has learned to let herself in and out through the dog door. She has met our dogs and cat and has no problem with them. She even met my 2 year old grandkids and did fine with them. She actually is not afraid of them like she is of most people when meeting for the first time.

“Reesie LOVES to walk; she walks great and seldom pulls on the leash. She enjoys her daily walks and would make a great hiking, walking, and running partner. She is afraid of loud noises, though; she can walk by people on walks and does fine, but a loud and new situation might scare her. Smaller environments would probably be best for her, especially when meeting her for the first time.

“Reesie sleeps very well in her crate at night. She is the quietest dog I have ever had; she does not bark, howl, cry, or whine. She loves to lie on the couch and upstairs on the bed. She is a good traveler and usually finds a place in the car and then goes to sleep or looks out the window. Reesie would make a wonderful companion dog. She is easy and sweet and just wants to be loved.”

Reesie will be at Petsmart on Saturday if you would like to meet her. If you are a patient person and you think that you can provide her with a quiet and loving home, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels. An adoption application for Reesie can be obtained by visiting our web site at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If you have any questions, please contact beagler534@comcast.net or emnase@aol.com, or call Penny Angels Beagle Rescue at 609-965-9476. Thank you!
