Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Julius is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a serious tail wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in these photos is how truly beautiful this dog is with the stunning silver and black streaks that run through his soft as cotton coat. Once Julius gets a sudsy bath and his first haircut that will accentuate his very cute face and dark, wise eyes...Julius will be one of the most adorable guys around. At 18 - 24 months old and about 16 lbs, Julius is a perfect weight (and has the long legs and energy to be a hiker) to accompany his family on Colorado trails, neighborhood walks to socialize and just about anywhere a sweet small dog is welcome.
Julius is every bit the young guy...fun and active. And at the same time he is so happy-go-lucky and wants to please. Julius would welcome kind boundaries and a Good Job treat would make his tail wag like a helicopter. At this early point in Julius's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Julius to a family who expresses their devotion for him with love and patience. We'd like Julius to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he can be. It would be a great way to use his energy in a positive direction.
Right now, Julius is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Julius is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than couch time with belly rubs, play-time in the yard or dog park, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Julius is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is clear guidance...he can succeed.
Julius is a non-shedding guy with the beautiful and cottony-soft hair that speaks of his Poodle breeding (we wonder if there's a bit of something else in Julius due to his long legs but we only see Poodle). He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
Julius is arriving on transport in Boulder in mid-November. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup.
