My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This happy little muffin of a pup is Penn, a 2 year old shar pei mix that came to us from our Newark facility in search of a fresh start in life. Penn literally began making friends the moment he came bopping off the transport van. When he spotted our staff ready to take him in, he began doing the happy-butt-dance and then just sat down, tilted his head, and put on a huge smile in anticipation of a treat. Someone put some training into this sweet little guy because he sits perfectly, walks perfectly on a leash, takes treats gently and will even lay down when asked. Penn is always playing and is a real class clown. Even the smallest activity like putting a new collar on him turns into a game where he starts playing hide and seek, then lets out happy rumbles when you catch him. He is just the tiniest bit mouthy when playing, so Penn will need some work with that, but he is otherwise a perfect gentleman. Penn gets along fine with other dogs and is very interested when one passes him by. He doesn't seem to mind cats either! Since he is a good deal shar pei, he will need a family that will pay attention to his skin, ears and eyes and take good care of this little darling. Penn is all ready to meet his new forever family so come down and meet our little lovebug. File#25797 11/25/15
