Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! My name is Mildred, but my friends call me Millie. As you can see from my pictures, I am a Beagle cross. I am about 6 years old and weigh around 38 lbs.
I get along with the other Beagles that came with my foster home. I also get along great with the cat! I would also do fine as an only dog.
I am usually pretty laid back. I can be very timid with people and sometimes the other dogs. I do get a little protective of my food. Foster mom is helping me learn that no one will take it from me.
I do need a little help understanding about going potty outside. My foster mom says I’m getting better every day! I am doing my best not to have any accidents in the house. I am slowly learning to go to the door if I need out. I am also learning about going potty on a leash.
My foster parents have a nice big dog yard that I love to explore on nice days. I’m not sure about a tie out, I could learn if need be.
I do not bark much, so would probably do okay in an apartment. It might be best if there aren’t too many stairs though. I am doing pretty good navigating the few my foster home has though.
I love to get pets and snuggles. I am also learning how to play with toys. I will make a great companion as long as you aren’t looking for a jogging partner!
Speaking of exercise, I could really use some help learning how to walk on a leash. I do okay, as long as you don’t mind frequent “stop and sniffs”. If I’m not ready to move on when you are, I have a habit of lying down and refusing to move. It can take a bit of coaxing to get me moving again.
I am crate trained. I have to spend about 4 hours per day in one while my foster parents are at work. I love having a kibble and peanut butter filled Kong to keep me entertained.
Even though I am a couch potato, I do not get up on the furniture. I am happy to have a comfy dog bed to snooze on. I usually spend my nights sleeping on one in the living room or in my foster parents’ bedroom.
