Alpha's Story...
12/24/2015: ALPHA HAS BEEN ADOPTED!Alpha arrived with his sisters. We have been told that they are chihuahua/pug mixes. The pups were from an unwanted pregnancy but will surely brighten some lucky person's life! Very cute little pups. They are a bit shy but do warm up quickly....they are resilient babies, after all. They are approx 12 weeks old as of 12/12/15. We will be quarantining them for 2 weeks to ensure that they have no deadly puppy diseases. We will be able to get most of them spayed/ neutered January 5th so they will be able to start going home then. We may consider allowing the pups to go home for Christmas with a spay/neuter contract. If you use our vet, the surgery would be covered by your adoption fee..if you choose a different vet, you would be responsible for the cost of the surgery and no discount is given on the adoption fee. We allow 3 months for the surgery to be completed and documentation of alteration must be returned to us as proof of surgery being completed. This is an option should you want to bring your pup home for the holidays but if you are able to wait until the 5th or shortly thereafter, we will have all age appropriate vetting completed, including spay/neuter and adoption fee helps to cover vetting and our daily care while they are with us. Adoption fees for each of these cuties will be $200. If interested in adopting, please email your adoption application and interest or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information. These little pups will make wonderful family companions and will fit into any home or family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alpha, a Chiefland Chihuahua/Pug puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pug for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pug puppy from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pug breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
