Sparky's Story...
Sparky is a playful Goffins. He likes to chase the broom while you sweep. Running on the back of the sofa while you toss a Kleenex is great fun. Bed time flapping is a must on Sparky’s agenda. He loves a spray bottle bath and becomes quite animated and will hang upside down to get the under side all wet. He is truly a sweet bird that likes everyone, with a particular fondness to boys between the ages of 8 and 15. Sparky is learning to talk and says “Hi whatcha doing, hello baby, I love you, ohhh sweet boy.” However, Sparky likes a quiet calm environment. He can not be in a household with several small children as this leads to him becoming nervous and shredding or pulling his feathers out. If you would like more information on Sparky contact The Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue and Education. Note: We do not ship birds and adopt only within a 200-mile radius of Fargo, North Dakota. A home visit is required prior to finalization of every adoption. Adoptions are not first come, first served; we strive to find the most appropriate home for each bird.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparky, a West Fargo Cockatoo was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatoo for sale in West Fargo, or seeking a Cockatoo from a breeder in West Fargo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Fargo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Fargo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatoo breeders who help with Cockatoo rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Fargo paves the way for another one to be saved.
