Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Oscar and I’m a 24-pound 5-to-6 year old beagle combo. I’ve had a pretty rough life as I had a home until I was 2 years old but they must have no longer wanted me as I ended up in the county kill shelter. But the shelter manager soon learned how very sweet I was and asked my foster mom to foster me until there was a spot in the prison program for me. That meant I gota second chance of finding a home. I did very well in the program and learned all my obedience, was house trained, crate trained and socialized with all the other dogs that had the privilege of going thru the program. Once I graduated I had a home lined up. Life was good for a while and I was very happy.
That was 3 years ago.
But then they gave me away without telling anyone and I just recently ended up on the streets with no collar or tag. Thank goodness I was microchipped as I was reunited with foster mommy.
I am still a very good boy, very loving and extremely happy. When my foster mommy sits on the couch I like to lie by her or sit in her lap. I LOVE my belly rubbed. Although I would enjoy sleeping in her bed, when she tells me to go to bed I will jump down and get in my crate for the night.
My foster mom takes me for a walk every day and I love it! My tail wags the whole way. I like to get petted by all the people along the way. I take my time when I eat and will take a treat gently from your hand. I will even sit when you ask me to.
I get along great with the other beagles in my foster home and enjoy playing with them from time to time. Soft squeaky toys are pretty cool too.
Foster mommy says I don’t meet a stranger. Her friend stopped by the other day and I jumped right up on her lap and gave her a kiss…she laughed. I do like to give kisses. She told foster mom if she was looking for a dog I’d be the one! They don’t get any friendlier than me!
While foster mom is at work I hang out in the house. I don’t need to be crated as I don’t get into anything. She has a doggie door so when I have to go I just go thru it.
I do well in the car and love to go for rides. I just snuggle and take a nap.
Actually I’m a pretty amazing boy. Won’t you please give me that chance of having a wonderful home with lots of love? I will be your best friend forever.
