My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can meet me at the Natomas Petsmart between 11 and 4 on Saturdays and Sundays!

Hi, my name is Bob and I am a BIG, short haired brown tabby with a white belly, although a lot of people think I’m gray, because I have brown and gray coloring mixed together. My front feet have white tips while my back feet and legs look like I’m wearing socks and the tip of my tail is also white. I was returned to CATS because my family started traveling more for work and couldn’t give me and my brother AJ the amount of love and attention that we deserve.

When I got to my Foster Mommies house, I had no problem coming out of the carrier and getting all kinds of pets. I’ve also been very good about using the litter box, even if it has high sides, is covered or is some strange contraption called a Clevercat top entry litter box that my previous parents had. I’ve been really good about scratching on the kitty condo or giant kitty tree that my Foster Mommy has. It’s just sometimes if I’m sitting on a dining chair and happen to see the ties for the cushion, I tend to play with them, but I’m working on getting better about only playing with things that are meant for me.

I’m a pretty mellow cat with a timid meow, but very confident. I’m a love bug like my brother, but I don’t need to commandeer your lap to do it. I usually prefer to just lie next to someone and get all kinds of attention and pets and head scratches.

When it comes to playtime with my Foster Mommy, I like any kind of wand toy, whether it has feathers or tassels, or even a bell on it. I usually go running after it to try and catch it. Sometimes I try to jump, but I usually only get a couple inches off the ground. I might be able to jump higher, but like I said, I’m pretty big. Sometimes I even like to chase after that little red dot that shows up from time to time and moves about the room.

If I’m playing by myself, one of my favorite things is something that rolls easily across the floor. Any kind of ball or even a plastic Easter egg will do, but I think I like it even more if it has a jingle bell or makes some other noise. My Foster Mommy tells me that I look like I belong in a pin ball machine, because sometimes I get carried away and crazily bat the ball from one place to another as I chase after it. Sometimes I’ll even pick up a jingle ball with my mouth and carry it somewhere else. I even like those contraptions that have a ball that rolls around in some kind of track or this strange toy that has a mouse that moves around on a track. I also really like cat treats, but unlike my brother, I don’t have the patience to figure out how to get them out of a treat ball, so I let him do all the work, and if he gets enough out at one time, I’ll help myself to some of them.

I also really, really love catnip. Sometimes my daddy would put catnip in a sock, and I would grab onto it so I could sniff it to my heart’s content. I think the sturdier the catnip toy the better since just the other day, I happened to chew the corner off of a catnip filled fabric square, just to get at what was inside. When my Foster Mommy tries to put catnip on the floor for me, I am always in her way because I enjoy it so much, and have a hard time waiting patiently.

At bedtime, I usually sleep in my cat bed, but sometimes I can be found in one of the perches of the kitty tree. I think this is because my previous parents decided they no longer wanted me (and my brother) sleeping on the bed with them, and would squirt me with water to make me go away. I could probably get used to sleeping at the foot of the bed again, if someone took the time to show me that it was ok to do.

Something else you should know about me, is I’m missing one of my canine teeth. I happened to break the top left one a couple of years ago, so the doctor took it out, but obviously, that hasn’t caused me any problems when it comes to eating. In fact, if you leave dry food out, I tend to just eat and eat and eat; I just can’t help myself.

Are you looking for a cat that enjoys all kinds of love and snuggles? Maybe you’re looking for two cats, so we can keep each other company if you go out? If so, you should consider adopting me and my brother AJ. He’s not my real brother, but we’ve been together for a few years now, and get along really well. You can even get a discount if you take us both. We also have some supplies that can come with us, but if we are split up, then I would only be able to take the things that I like the best, so my brother AJ has a few things that he likes better.

If you have any questions whatsoever, you can call my previous owner Scott at 916-200-9558. He loves to talk about me and my brother.
