My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We love a man with a beard. Add a mohawk and we're smitten. Make that man a Schnauzer with a beard and a mohawk...it's over. Sassy came into rescue at only 2 months old after he was diagnosed with Megaesophagus, a condition in which his esophagus is enlarged, making it difficult to move food and water fully into his stomach. Since his breeder didn't feel she had the resources to care for him, she reached out to Ruff Start Happy Tails and we were thrilled to bring him into rescue. Now about 11 months old, Sasquatch has been in foster while we've had him assessed by our veterinary team and determined how to best manage his condition. Sassy is currently flourishing and his ME is controlled simply by having him sit up for approximately 15 minutes after each meal. This little smarty pants already knows his routine and happily sits in his crate to aid in his digestion. Sassy is wonderful with the resident dogs in his foster home, both large and small, and is a friend to all the new foster dogs that come for a visit. He also loves his humans, kiddos included, enjoys playtime with his toys, rides in the car and snuggle sessions on the couch. This little 14 lb. rockstar is also crate trained and housebroken. Sas is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped.
