Rocky's Story...
Rocky is such a unique and handsome little boy. He and his brother and sister were born April 22nd and are now ready to find homes of their own. Rocky is playful and energetic. He loves to wrestle with other kitties and play with toys. Rocky is litter box trained and very kind and friendly. He purrs and likes to be cuddled. Rocky would like to sleep in bed with you since that's what he is used to now. He is smart and understands the word "no." He is being neutered August 2 and we would love to find him a loving home where he can recover from his surgery and bond with his new family. Love Rocky and give him the family of his dreams. His brother Nosey and sister Lucy need homes too. Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $100.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to pawsforliferescue@comcast.net to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Troy Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Troy, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
