Prancer's Story...
"Hi my name is Prancer! I think I'm getting overlooked because of my white muzzle, but I'm only 4 years old! I get along great with other dogs and like kids too, but I've never been around kitty cats. My only issue is that I LOVE MY FOOD! I love it so much that I have to be fed seperatly from other dogs and no kids can get in the way of my meal. But I have a good reason for being so obsessed with food, I almost died of starvation! When I was abandoned in a kennel to starve and die, I was couragious enough to dig me and my buddy out of the kennel and to freedom. A good samartian took us to the local shelter for a good meal, and a safe warm bed for the night. ADA took me into their foster program because I needed to gain so much weight. But now I'm healthy and ready to find my forever home!

$175.00 adoption donation ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough) , microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prancer, a Staunton Plott Hound/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound/Boxer for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Plott Hound/Boxer dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound/Boxer breeders who help with Plott Hound/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
