Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We have a black velvet female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. She came to NWI about a month ago and we estimate she was born around 10/6/15. This makes her right about 4 months old – now’s a great time to take her home and make her part of your family!
She is a black velvet chinchilla, so she is black over the top of her body, with a white belly.
She is definitely an energetic girl! She loves to bounce around her cage. She is super curious and loves to be out and explore. She would probably just think playtime is the best thing ever (when she is old enough, 6+ months)! Despite the energy, she does great with being handled and petted. When you are holding her, she just tends to look around a bit and view the world around her. It is a different perspective for her, after all. She does sit pretty nicely in your arms when you are holding her, she is just more of an active girl when she’s in her cage. Sweet girl. Doesn’t bite.
This chinchilla is currently living alone, and we do not know if she gets along with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether she might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before.
This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.
Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
