My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Dachshund/Terrier mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...they're famous for their great temperaments and extremely loving and snuggly ways. They're known to be trustworthy and very gentle with family members and other family pets...and since they (like all dogs) require a certain amount of exercise and love being with their people...if a walk is the order of the day - count them in! These mixes are known to hike joyfully through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines.

Addi is an absolutely adorable and engaging girl (she resembles the sleek beauty of a fox!) who favors the long-haired stunning coat of the Doxy and intellect and fun of a scruffy Terrier. Since Addi doesn't appear to shed her coat, she'll require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning golden-red hair healthy and matt-free..

Addi's Texas foster mom sent us the following report on sweet this sweet girl:
Addi has to be the the most endearing dog ever! She greets me in the morning with the cutest smile. She's very politely asking for breakfast. I also have to brag about how great she is with everyone..all people, dogs and cats! She's nothing but positive energy and loving fun!

Addi is a long-haired Dachshund mix with a bit of Terrier in there (I think). She could also be known as a Terrshund (in other words, she's a stunning designer dog, teehee)!
Addi weighs approximately 12 - 15 lbs (hard to tell exactly). and has a calm, gentle nature and always sweet personality. My 7 and 9 year old daughters love her! Addi gets along famously with my senior 80 lb. Smooth Coat Collie, young, energetic 14 lb. Miniature Poodle and is very polite with my 2 cats. In other words she's perfect and I'd never let her go if my husband didn't put his foot down at 5 pets!
Addi is the greatest companion I've ever fostered! She perks up when she sees me get her leash as she loves to go for long walks. She engages with everyone and behaves herself like a champion.

What can I say...Addi is a dream-dog..no kidding! She is a perfect companion, loves to be in your lap but never needy. She will steal your heart (and the hearts of your family) instantly. I only ask that she be loved completely. No dog ever deserved it more!

Our rescue assessment of sweet Addi is that her kind nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes close playmates everywhere she goes. Addi is very outgoing and social and that means everyone she meets ultimately becomes a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Addi's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending into a smile. And if your lap is available, up Addi goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion. Addi is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Doxie/Terrier. At about 18 - 24 months old and just about 12 - 15 lbs, she seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her early life. Addi has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments.

We would like to see Addi in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's very social and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Addi would be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup or a family with gentle dog-loving kids. Addi doesn't require another dog or cat to be happy...but does enjoy her relationships with kind and gentle dogs and cats.

Addi will arrive on transport in Boulder on Saturday 2/6/16. If interested in this very loving, entertaining and loyal best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
