Hello, my name is Vaughn (aka Vaughnie, aka Tiny Man) and I am a 1 year old dachshund / min pin (miniature pinscher) mix. That basically means I have springs for back legs. I am only 10 pounds, but I am chock full of enthusiasm for life! My foster mom says to let you know that I am a little scared and timid at first, but if you sit down and let me come to you I will shower you with kisses and love. I also have gotten along great with my foster moms 4 dogs and 2 kids. I do need to have another dog as a playmate as I love to play. I am house and crate trained, and I love to sleep in the bed at night without getting up once. I am an accomplished and dedicated cuddler and lapdog. If I cannot snuggle with a person, I will find another dog to snuggle with, whether they like it or not (here I am doing this in the picture with my foster sister.) I have a couple of funny quirks -- I am still very young and so sometimes I play a little rough (mouthy) like puppies do. I am learning not to do that, but when I get really excited I do nibble on fingers, ears, and noses. Not too hard, I'm not trying to hurt anyone, but I am really a little dynamo. Also, I do not like men to pick me up, but I will give them kisses and let them pet me and cuddle with them and play with them. Just give me a chance to get comfortable and I will be your best friend for life. I LOVE toys -- I will chase a toy you throw and bring it back over and over, and if it has a squeak I will find it and get it OUT! I have never been around a cat, but I do not chase my foster mom's chickens, so it is unlikely that I would hurt a cat (I might chase them to play though).

dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Vaughn's adoption fee is $300. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Vaughn will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
