Meet Paco the Taco!
Say hola to Paco the "I'm SOOO Cool Taco!" Paco is a super sweet, two-year old Chihuahua/corgi mix who loves to be by you and will snuggle up when he doesn't get too hot -- that corgi coat keeps him insulated!

Paco currently lives with a pit mix and two other small dogs. They are one happy pack and get along tremendously. Paco is a confident guy and is settling into the routine. He had a couple of accidents in the house the first few days but with a regular schedule he is getting the hang of going outside and has even learned where the door is to signal his foster mom when he has to go.

Paco knows some basic commands but would benefit from an obedience class or two; with that said, he is a calm boy and doesn't bark often from what his foster family has seen.

He does tend to resource guard with his food around other dogs, and his foster family has found that he is most comfortable when he is in his kennel, and he willingly goes into his kennel to eat his food in peace. There haven't been any scuffles around food or with treats but he give signals that he is uncomfortable, such as getting quiet. Paco happily lets his foster family handle him, his food, and his treats.

Paco walks well on a leash and loves to be on his foster mom's lap in the car. His foster family is taking him on short walks right now, as he is having some discomfort with his back legs, which will be checked out when he goes to get neutered. Right now, he is in his crate during the day while his foster family is at work and actually prefers to sleep in his crate at night even when offered the bed.

This handsome little man is an easygoing, lovable boy who would make a great pet and family member -- you'll fall in love once you meet him!

Paco’s adoption fee is $250 and he is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
