Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Xander is a gorgeous purebred Australian Shepherd puppy who is a mix of red merle and blue merle which is why he was born deaf. He has the beautiful thick, fluffy Aussie coat and ice blue eyes. He has "prick ears" which is why his ears are upright instead of floppy. Xander loves to play with other dogs and is respectful of cats. He loves to snuggle and give kisses. Xander is friendly and affectionate with most people. Despite his size, he is very calm and gentle even with small children. He loves to cuddle on the sofa and in bed at night. Xander is neutered, has had all his puppy shots, is heartworm-negative, microchipped and on flea/heartworm prevention. Australian Shepherds are a high energy breed so he needs either a doggie playmate or an active owner who can take him running or jogging on a daily basis. His adoption fee is $200 and he is currently ready for adoption. Xander is currently about 50 lbs at 9 months old. He will most likely be 60-65 lbs full-grown. if you are interested in adopting Xander please email healingheartsrescue@hotmail.com. You can also call or text (615) 290-2454. Being deaf doesn't slow Xander down at all. He does need a fenced-in yard for potty breaks and walks very nicely on a leash, no pulling at all. He is housetrained and only chews on his bones. In most ways a deaf dog is just like any other dog. Xander loves snuggling, walking and playing. Since he only barks at what he can see, he is much quieter than most dogs.
