My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there...my name is Little Jerry and I'm one of the happiest & most friendly little dachshunds you'll ever meet. I weigh about 12.5 lbs, am ~8 years old, and have a hummingbird tail that never stops wagging. I love toys, car rides, other dogs, and snuggling, among other things. I want to go everywhere with you, but I will stay in my kennel if you need me to. Foster mom keeps telling me I'm a very good boy. That makes me happy because I'm loving all this new found attention. The nice folks at DREAM tell me I'm heartworm positive but they are also treating me for that. It sounds like win-win to me. I walk well on a leash and do great at sticking to my outdoor schedule. I'll make my no-puppy-pledge in the next couple of weeks, and as soon as that's over, I'll be ready to go home. Wouldn't you love to have me? I promise to make you smile.

If you are interested in adopting Little Jerry, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Little Jerry 's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Little Jerry will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
