My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gisele, aka Mama G, is a sweet and resilient little dog. Not only did she keep her puppies alive in 15-degree weather, she kept them well fed when she was just skin and bones. She's plumping up nicely now that she has a warm place to stay and access to good food and fresh water. She is so appreciative of the little things: a soft couch, a warm blanket, a welcoming lap. Once her puppies are weaned she will be looking for some well-deserved TLC of her own. During the day, Gisele has run of the first floor where her person is able to keep an eye on her. Gisele sleeps in an exercise pen with her three babies at night. She prefers to be in the same room as her person so she'd especially love to share her person's bed. She is excellent at doing her business outside. She hasn't spent a whole lot of time around dogs but she doesn't seem to mind them. She spied a bunny out on a walk and was very interested in chasing it so a home without a cat might be best. Gisele is estimated to be about 1-2 years old and weighs about 7.5 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday March 5, 2016, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
